ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KPLR) – University City police tracked down and arrested a suspected debit card thief a little over two weeks ago after the man used the stolen card to purchase pizza and have it delivered to his home.

According to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, the initial theft took place December 27, 2015 at the Club Fitness branch in the 6600 block of Delmar Boulevard.

Police said Ronald Green was caught on surveillance video stealing the debit and credit cards, as well as other items, from the victim’s backpack. The victim was working out at the time and did not know about the theft until later.

Investigators discovered Green used the stolen debit card to place an order to Imo’s Pizza and have the pizza delivered to his home in the 7000 block of Julian Avenue. Police went to Green’s home and discovered the victim’s credit and debit cards, as well as a social security card, and a .380 loaded pistol.

Green admitted to stealing the debit card and to unlawful possession of the firearm, police said.

Prosecutors charged Green with theft/stealing of a credit card and unlawful possession of a firearm.
