Man killed at Poplar Bluff Walmart; suspect in custody

POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KPLR) – A person is in custody in connection to a murder at a Walmart parking lot, Poplar Bluff police said Tuesday.

According to Sgt. Darron Moore, a spokesman for the Poplar Bluff Police Department, authorities were called to the Walmart in the 300 block of S. Westwood around 7:10 a.m. in response to a shooting. Upon their arrival, police pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Police found the suspect in the front lobby of the store and took the person into custody without incident.

No other information has been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
