Woman struck and killed by car fleeing from police

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - An innocent bystander was struck and killed Friday afternoon after a driver ran a red light in north St. Louis County. Velda City Police were following the suspect's vehicle at a high rate of speed near the intersection of Natural Bridge and Lucas & Hunt when the incident occured.

The Missouri Highway Patrol identifies the victim as Keisha Redding, 23, of St. Louis. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a red Monte Carlo with a white hood and heavy damage. Police have found a vehicle matching that description and showing front end damage in St. Louis City.

The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating the case.
