Afternoon on 11: Tackling the lack of diversity in the media industry

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- One local nonprofit is working hard to open up opportunities for minorities who want to work in the field of media production in St. Louis. We'll discuss why there are so many obstacles and what is being done to encourage more diversity and inclusion with St. Louis filmmaker Dan Parris.

Parris' non-profit organization Continuity  is partnering with Mission St. Louis, St. Louis Artworks and Parris’ own production company, Speak Up Productions, to teach media production classes to underprivileged St. Louis residents. The goal is to create a more diversified workforce.
