WASHINGTON PARK, IL (KPLR) – The St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office charged two women Thursday for their roles in a toddler’s death in Washington Park.

Washington Park police were called to a home in the 5000 block of Caseyville Avenue around noon on February 23 and found the body of a three-year-old boy near the bottom of a staircase inside the residence.

An autopsy determined the child died as a result of traumatic head injury and the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death warranted criminal charges.

Prosecutors charged 24-year-old Tiara Johnson with first-degree murder and 20-year-old Dyamond Honore, the child’s mother, with aggravated battery of a child under the age of 13.
