Teens arrested for stealing $10,000 in guns from Troy house party

TROY, IL (KPLR) – Police have arrested two 18-year-olds and four juveniles for stealing $10,000 in guns during a house party. They face multiple felony charges including aggravated possession of firearms and unlawful delivery of stolen firearms. The stolen firearms were delivered within 1000 feet of a school. This is considered a class 1 felony.

One of the guns was found at Collinsville High School on January 7th. A Police officer at the school took the juvenile suspect into custody. Troy and Collinsville police then began a joint investigation.

A Troy resident called police on January 8th. She said that six guns were stolen from her home. They are considered collectors items and have a value of over $10,000. Detectives say the guns were stolen during a house party on January 1st.

Police learned that four of the five remaining firearms were going to be transferred in Troy. Officers intercepted the exchange. This led the voluntary return of the stolen firearms the next day.

Eighteen-year-olds Kameron Garcia and Cole Young,  both of Collinsville, are being held at the Madison County Jail on a $100,000 bond. The juvenile suspects are currently being held at the Madison County Juvenile Detention Center.
