EDWARDSVILLE, IL (KPLR) - It`s a $32 billion dollar underground industry and the victims involved in human trafficking are being sold into what some are calling modern day slavery. And it`s closer than you think.

On Monday Edwardsville High School hosted a forum led by Illinois Congressman Rodney Davis to educate students and parents about the signs of trafficking and how to avoid it.

Representatives from the FBI and The Covering House gave presentations and answered questions. Experts discussed how victims from all walks of life are approached over the internet and mentally controlled. Some of the victims are as young as 12-years-old.
