Frozen Cup participants excited about potential NHL”Winter Classic” in St. Louis

CLAYTON, MO (KPLR) - Outdoor hockey for a great cause. Shaw Park in Clayton was home to the Frozen Cup, a marathon of hockey Sunday. The ll-day  charity hockey tournament raises money for Autism research and for families affected by the Autism spectrum of disorders.

Many on the ice were excited about the news that St. Louis is being considered for another big out door hockey game, the NHL's "Winter Classic." The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Saturday that the NHL is finalizing discussions to bring an outdoor hockey game to Busch Stadium in 2017, maybe the "Winter Classic" next January.
