Festus police investigate attempted abduction near school

FESTUS, MO (KPLR) – The Festus Public School District is alerting parents to an attempted abduction that occurred Wednesday afternoon after school had let out.

District Superintendent Dr. Link Luttrell said the incident took place around 4:15 p.m. on Midmeadow Lane near Pryor Drive.

The student said she was walking along the road when she was pulled into a nearby sparsely wooded area. She was eventually able to escape and told school officials and eventually police.

A description of the suspect was not made public.
