DESOTO, MO (KTVI)- A spectacular late night fire heavily damaged a bowling alley and lounge in DeSoto, Missouri. Eyewitness video shows the flames lighting up the night sky.The fire started around 9:45p.m. at the Ball creek Bowling Alley on Route 21 near State Road Y.

There were a few people in the White Mule Saloon, which shares the building with the bowling alley. Everyone got out safely. The first firefighters arrived on the scene five minutes after the initial alarm but the damage was too severe.

"The roof on the bowling alley section of the building had already begun to collapse and it progressed from there. And we've now gone to three alarms which has brought in units from most of Jefferson County as well as St. Francois and Washington County."

Firefighters say the icy conditions made it difficult to fight the fire. There were a few slips and falls but no one was injured.

Investigators from the Missouri Fire Marshal's office arrived overnight to investigate the cause.
