18 charged with federal drug trafficking, violent crimes across St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR)- Multiple people were arrested Thursday in connection with a 20 count federal indictment. Officials say the indictment was returned last week but remained sealed until today’s arrests.

In the indictment, 18 people are charged with various drug trafficking offenses and violent crimes, including murders throughout the St. Louis are over the last fourteen years.

The arrests are part of an on-going effort by the Mission SAVE Initiative. Established in December 2014, the program aims to reduce violent crime in the St. Louis Metropolitan area.

The charges in the indictment are accusations. The defendants are presumed innocent unless and or until proven guilty.
