Jewelry store targeted in ‘smash and grab’ burglary

jewelry robberyEDWARDSVILLE, IL (KTVI) – Investigators with the Edwardsville Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspects tied to a “smash and grab” burglary at a local jeweler.

According to Edwardsville Police Chief Jay Keveen, the crime occurred Wednesday at 6:15 a.m. at Hudson Jewelers on Edwardsville Crossing Drive East. While police arrived with two minutes of the alarm going off, the suspects had already left the scene.

Surveillance video shows two men pull in front of the store in a dark-colored SUV. They used an object to shatter glass at the front of the store to gain access to the business.
