Water rescues greet the New Year in West Alton, Bridgeton

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO (KTVI)- Emergency crews began 2016 rescuing several stranded motorists. Three people had to be rescued overnight when they drove their car around a flood barrier. Their car ended up in the water on southbound U.S. 67 in West Alton, MO. Everyone inside was able to get out safely, though a bit cold and wet The Missouri Highway Patrol says the driver will not face any charges.

And just before 4:00 Friday in Bridgeton, two people had to be rescued when they drove into water over the road. EMS workers had to rescue the two after they became stranded at Missouri Bottom Road and St. Charles Rock Road when their vehicle became stuck in the water.
