ST. CHARLES, MO (KPLR) – St. Charles Police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old child.  Neighbors of the boy said his mother discovered her child was dead Sunday morning.  Police have not released a cause of death.  A spokesperson for the department said it was too soon to release any details.  The investigation is still ongoing.

The child lived in the Elm Point Mobile Home Village.  By late Sunday afternoon some neighbors placed cards and stuffed animals outside the home surrounded by police crime tape.

“He was a sweet little thing.  He used to peek out the window and wave at you,” said one tearful neighbor.  “Just a real sweet little thing.”

Christopher Garcia lives in the mobile home park and knew the child.  He says he doesn’t know anything about the circumstances of the little boy’s death, but hopes police conduct a thorough investigation.

“It’s terrible, terrible thing,” said Garcia.   “He was a beautiful boy.”
