RICHMOND HIEGHTS, MO (KPLR) - It's the busy season for the post office, mailing out cards and gifts across the country, but at one local post office it's not the extra items that has left workers with an extra burden to bear.

FOX 2 also confirmed with the United States Postal Service public relations department that the trailer has a restroom, however, no running water. The employees are provided a water bottle, other containers filled with water and hand sanitizers.

A spokesperson for the postal service says its safety department visited the site this week and deemed the location safe and secure.

Also the spokesperson for the postal service says that normally the Richmond Heights temporary location has two postal employees working however, they are currently short -handed as the other employees accepted positions at another location.   Customers hope the situation will improve soon “I come in with 20 pieces of mail to process the line grows.  I feel bad, but she works to get it done.  Very impressed with her attitude never heard any complaining, I complain” said customer Patty LaRochelle

Officials say they are in the process of replacing the vacancy very soon and wanted to remind everyone the trailer is temporary until the new post office location is completed.
