ST. LOUIS (KPLR) - Demolition began on the home of the Cardinals fan left paralyzed in a robbery and shooting near Busch Stadium. The Gary Sinese Foundation is helping to make Army veteran Chris Sanna’s home completely wheelchair accessible.

St. Louis firefighters joined the effort today, tearing down walls, ripping up carpets, and gutting the bathrooms and kitchen. Hallways will be made wider, counter tops lowered, and hardwood floors installed throughout the house to help make Sanna completely independent.

Sanna remains in a rehab facility but the goal is to have him home by Christmas. The Gary Sinese Foundation is looking for contractors who can donate their time or vendors who can donate materials. You can also make a monetary donation at the Chris Sanna GoFundMe account.
