ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – The St. Louis Cardinals have exercised their $11.5 million option on left-handed pitcher Jaime Garcia for the 2016 season. The team declined their option on right handed reliever Jonathan Broxton.

The team also announced that outfielder Pete Kozma and catchers Ed Easley and Travis Tartamella have been taken off the 40-man roster and outrighted to Class AAA Memphis.

Kozma, 27, was the Cardinals’ No. 1 draft pick in 2007 and appeared in 76 games for the Cardinals.

Easley and Tartamella were called up from Memphis when Yadier Molina was injured late in the 2015 season.
