Man charged in Bevo double murder

ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged a 19-year-old for a double murder that took place earlier this week in the Bevo neighborhood.

According to Leah Freeman, a spokeswoman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the murders took place around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday in the 4400 block of Taft Avenue near the intersection with Ridgewood.

The victims, identified as 22-year-old Haris Hajdarevic and 23-year-old James Cobb, were found shot to death in a vehicle outside a home.

Freeman said police arrested Rey Hernandez on Friday. Hernandez was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action.

Police have not publicly identified a possible motive for the murders.
