ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – FTP. A great deal of online bickering has kicked up after an employee at a south St. Louis coffee shop was seen writing those three little letters on “to-go” cups.
Police supporters were incensed after a Black Lives Matter protester tweeted this picture:
FTP is an abbreviation for “F*** The Police.”
The tweet spurred people to shower the MoKaBe’s Twitter and Facebook accounts with criticism, hopes they go out of business, and threats of calling for surprise inspections from the city fire and health departments.
Via Twitter, MoKaBe’s responded to the controversy:
Mo Costello, the owner of MoKaBe’s, did not want to discuss the matter when contacted by Fox 2 News.
Jeff Roorda, a spokesman for the St. Louis Police Officers Association union, said he’d not heard anything about it and had no comment.
