IKEA customers begin lining up for grand opening

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR)- In a little more than 48 hours the home furnishings retail giant IKEA will officially open its doors in St. Louis. Shoppers can start lining up at 9a.m. to be the first ones inside the new store. It`s because they will get free stuff!

The new store located at Vandeventer Avenue and Forest Park is the company's 41st store in the U.S. It's the first in Missouri.

The store officially opens on Wednesday, October 1st at 9a.m.  The first 41 adults, who are 18 or older, will receive a free three seat sofa. Then the next 100 adults will get a free arm chair. The first 100 children, 17 years and under, will receive a free heart shaped soft toy.

There are more promotions for this Thursday and Friday. Those include the first 41 adults in the door on Thursday receiving a queen sized mattress and the first 41 adults on Friday receiving free monthly meatball meals for one year.
