ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) – The social media site Facebook went  down for about 45 minutes on Monday.  Around 2:00pm St. Louis time, mobile, apps, and desktop versions of the site were all offline. Users attempting to load the social networking website received error messages.  The website came back up around 2:45pm.

This is the second time in a week Facebook.com has gone down.  The last time Facebook went down the outage lasted for about 10 minutes.

Facebook also owns Instagram and Pinterest.  Both of those websites seemed to work during the outage.

Facebook is the world’s largest social network, with over 1.39 billion monthly active users.

Meanwhile, people on other social media platforms were trying to figure out what they were going to do during the outage.
