DE SOTO, MO (KPLR) - Seven people were hurt in three car accident at Highway 21 and Amvets Drive in De Soto.  Investigators say a car and truck crashed. A witness says a mini-van swerved to avoid the wreck and ended up in a creek.

Capt. James Coleman/De Soto Fire Department: "The van actually came off of the highway, and because of the viaduct off of the highway, that's what made it even worse when it came off of the highway and landed. It landed at about a 45-degree angle with all of the patients in the vehicle."

All seven victims were cut from their vehicles, with two being airlifted to a St. Louis hospital. Five victims were transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
