EAST ST. LOUIS (KPLR) - You Paid For It investigates the City Manager shuffle in East St Louis, a cash strapped city looking at a significant layoff of police and firefighters.

The new Mayor got rid of the existing city manager when she came into office promising a fresh start. Instead it's more of the same in East St Louis.

The City Council voted 3 to 2 to get rid of the new city manager who was barely in office and replace her with former Mayor Alvin Parks who had just been defeated for re-election.

You ended up paying $40,000 in severance to the two former city managers while you were paying the $100,000 salary to Alvin Parks.

You Paid for it tried to question one of the Council Members responsible for this deal but she would only say "No comment".

Elliott Davis also questioned current City Manager Parks who calls this a "great" deal for taxpayers.
