Arrest made in murder over a spilled beer

LAMARC ROBERT GARRETT(KPLR) – Investigators from the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a man in Sauget, Il Saturday morning. Authorities arrested 29-year-old Lamarc Robert Garrett of St. Louis Sunday in connect to the homicide, in which Oscar Casiano Carbajal was fatally shot Saturday at 5;30 am at the Route 3 Liquor gas station. Police say Carbajal was shot in the chest after one of the men in group he was with accidentally dropped a beer to the ground, splashing beer on the suspect.

Garrett has been charged with first degree murder by the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office and in being held on a $1 million dollar bond. Garrett is being held in Missouri pending extradition.

An investigation is still ongoing.
