ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) – A 17 year-old was gunned down in the street a year ago. Now his grieving mother is doing her part to try and take back the streets. The killer is still at large and there’s a $5,000 reward to find him.

A memorial in a vacant lot is filled with memories for Sabrina Elam. It was where her 17 year-old son, Jared was shot and killed on September 4th, 2014. The shooting happened in the 4200 block of Obear in North St. Louis. A Shiny black pickup truck reportedly stopped in the street right before he was shot.

So far no one is talking. Sabrina`s family has raised $5,000 in reward money hoping someone comes forward.

Meanwhile, Sabrina marches forward. She formed the group ‘Mother`s United for our children.’ Sunday she`ll be marching through this North St. Louis neighborhood in her son`s honor.
