EAST SAINT  LOUIS, IL (KPLR) - Drivers using Interstate 64 to come into St. Louis from the Metro East could be facing some additional traffic trouble for the next several months. The right westbound lane of I-64 between Third and Tudor in East St. Louis will be closed until spring of 2016.

The shutdown could be a significant issue for drivers especially during the morning rush. An IDOT worker says the closure started Monday at 11a.m.

Officials say IDOT is completing new ramp work that will connect eastbound Martin Luther King Bridge traffic to westbound I-55/I-64. The M.L.K. Bridge is already completely shut down until November 30th for work on the bridge deck and also this project.
