Firefighters called to Purnia for man trapped in a elevator

ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – St. Louis firefighters were called Saturday morning to the Purina complex for a man trapped in an elevator that was filling with smoke. St. Louis firefighters got the call shortly before 8:30 am.

Fortunately the man was able to force the elevator doors open and get himself out before fire crews arrived.

The man was treated at the scene.

Fire officials say one of the elevator motors had overheated.
