ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – St. Louis police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who tried to rob a 7-Eleven in the Fox Park neighborhood early Monday morning.

According to Leah Freeman, a spokeswoman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred just after 4:15 a.m. in the 2600 block of Gravois Avenue.

When police arrived at the scene, a clerk told them a man walked into the convenience store, pulled out a handgun, and demanded money from the register. When the clerk said he didn’t have the code to open the register, the suspect ran off.

Nothing was taken from the store and no one was injured.
