Overland police investigating shooting

OVERLAND, MO (KPLR) – This past Saturday night a shooting occurred on the parking lot of a Schnucks grocery store located on Overland Plaza. The shooting was the result of an encounter between an alleged shoplifters and an armed security officer for the store.

Police say the suspect, a woman in her 30’s was approached by the security officer about several stolen items, when she jumped into a white Ford Explorer and drove it in reverse at the security officer.

The officer fired one shot at the vehicle striking the rear of the SUV.

The suspect was last seen with long black hair, white bandage on the left arm and wearing a multi-colored shirt with blue/white shorts.
