Man charged with impersonating a St. Louis police officer
ST. LOUIS (KPLR)- A man with a history of impersonating law enforcement has been charged with doing it again in St. Louis last month. Shaun Arnold was charged Wednesday by the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office in connection with an incident aboard a Metrolink train June 28. According to St. Louis Police, Arnold, 36, was seen in full SLMPD Dress uniform, including a pistol, and was checking passengers for train tickets. According to a probable cause statement, Arnold could not provide any identification, and authorities say he fled the scene after calling Wellston Police.
The probable cause statement says Arnold later admitted that he was impersonating an officer. The same statement indicates Arnold had a previous conviction for the same offense in the State of Texas, although the specifics behind that incident were not immediately available.
