CHICAGO – Coffee anyone? Maybe a Cardinals rookie will pick you up some.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch Cardinals writer Derrick Goold explains that there is a Starbucks across the street from Wrigley Field. On Tuesday, rookies Marcus Hatley, Miguel Socolovich, and Mitch Harris along with assistant bullpen catcher Kleininger Teran went to the coffee shop to get drinks for teammates before the  first game of a day-night doubleheader against the Cubs.

While taking orders in the clubhouse, it was “recommended” that the rookies go on the coffee run in full uniform.

Goold explains that all teams have some form of rookie “orientation.”  In recent years, making rookies dress in costume during team flights has been a popular bit of light hazing.
