(KPLR) – St. Louis area rivers are starting to recede after overflowing their banks this week due to heavy rains. Residents and business owners in some river cities were hit hard by flooding. Up to seventy businesses and homes in the McCausland area of the Gateway City were also flooded, but it wasn't because of the nearby Des Peres River spilling into basements, but rather a problem with the sewer system. The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District claims responsibility for the problem and is working to help devastated residents. Tonight on The Pulse of St. Louis, learn how to determine whether your home or business is located in a flood zone and what you need to do to protect your family and property.
