Woman shot overnight in south St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – An early morning shooting in south St. Louis City left one woman injured, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said.

The shooting happened just after 2:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Jefferson Avenue near Interstate 44, in the Fox Park neighborhood.

The woman was shot while in her car, police said. The injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Police have not released any information on a suspect or motive.
