ST. LOUIS (KPLR) - A water main break just off Interstate 44 eastbound turned into a potentially dangerous situation for drivers, and the crew making repairs this Tuesday morning. Drivers saw warning signs on the  interstate, but were unprepared for the sudden warning area the at the ramp, casing some drivers to hit and drag cones placed at the work area.

MoDOT says they put out warning signs on the interstate, but it was the city's responsibility to provide additional warnings on the ramp to aid drivers.

FOX 2's George Sells reports on the ramp closure that surprised some people.
