Tornado touches down near Hawk Point, storm continues to cause damage into Illinois

LINCOLN CO, MO (KTVI) – A severe thunderstorm moved through Lincoln County Saturday evening. Weather spotters and law enforcement around Hawk Point spotted a funnel cloud as the storm moved through. On Sunday, the National Weather Service conducted a survey of the damage in and around Hawk Point and determined that a tornado did touch down southwest of town near Prairie Rd. Initial estimates are the tornado was a EF1 with winds of at least 110 mph.

Fortunately, no one was hurt during the storm.

That storm then crossed the Mississippi River into Illinois, eventually doing some damage in Carrollton, IL, in Greene County.
