Authorities identify body recovered in Mississippi River

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – The St. Louis City Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the body of a woman found floating earlier this in the Mississippi River near the Eads Bridge.

The medical examiner’s office identified the woman as 26-year-old Jane Mielke of Granite City.

The body was recovered near the Eads bridge.  She was spotted in the river just before 11:20 a.m. on June 3. They say she may have been missing for several weeks.

The body was described as a Caucasian female 20 – 40 years old.  She is 5 ‘ 6” tall and weighs approximately 144lbs.  Her hair is medium length, brown-colored and straight.  There is a single piercing in each ear.  She also has a large scorpion tattoo on her back.
