(KPLR) – Later this month inmates in the Jefferson County Jail will only be allowed visits through video.

Sheriff Glenn Boyer says the video visitation will let family and friends visit with inmates from any computer. People without access to a computer may still visit at the jail in Hillsboro, but that visit will also be through video visitation.

There will be a small fee for video visitation off-site. Onsite visitation will be free.

It program begins June 25th.
