WELLSTON, MO (KTVI) - Vandals broke into a Wellston warehouse and used forklifts to tear the place up. It was all caught by security cameras. It appears the five suspects only stole some coins, loose change, but the people in charge at Arch Material Handling said damages will add up to tens of thousands of dollars.

Surveillance cameras caught two of the suspects walking up the driveway to the business’ warehouse around 7:45 Saturday night; seconds later three more guys joined them. Warehouse manager Jeff Davey said, “…like maybe years old 20-years-old, hard to tell.”

Inside they broke through an office wall and once inside one person turned on the lights. Someone found keys to two forklifts. The damages continued. One after another the forklift drivers smashed into the wall of the company’s office.  Davey said, “They ran it into the building completely literally it looked like they were trying to destroy it.”

Pieces of the office were scattered in the warehouse.

The company installs racks and shelving in businesses and homes.

The vandals also began using the forklifts as if they were a ride at a carnival.  One suspect even rode on top of a forklift.  Davey said, “They were playing almost bumper cars with the forklift…I can’t believe they didn’t get hurt it’s dangerous they’re really luck they didn’t get hurt.” The five suspects were inside the business for almost two hours.

The Wellston Police Department is investigating the burglary. If you recognize any of the suspects you’re urged to call the Wellston police at 314-553-8010
