ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR)-A big step toward completing the Delmar Loop trolley project is going to create big headaches for drivers this weekend. To make way for the new tracks, crews are tearing down the DeBaliviere bridge that crosses the Metrolink tracks at Forest Park Parkway, closing the road and the Metrolink station this weekend.

Crews have sliced the bridge into 48 sections and are removing each piece by crane. They will remove a total of 2.5 million pounds of concrete.

The Forest Park-DeBaliviere Metrolink station will be closed Saturday and Sunday, May 9-10. Shuttles will be used to transport passengers by bus between the Skinker, Delmar Loop, Forest Park-DeBaliviere and Central West End Metrolink stations. Passengers should plan for 30 minute delays.

Forest Park Parkway will also be closed between Skinker and Union all weekend. Drivers should use alternate routes. DeBalivere Blvd. itself is closed through early September.
