ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – Did the NFL tip its hand regarding the fate of the Rams franchise?

The St. Louis Rams, rumored to be among the teams that could bring the NFL back to Los Angeles, could be returning to the City of Angels. As of Monday afternoon, had a page lending credence to the theory that the Rams are not long for the Gateway City.

All 32 teams on have a team profile page. The URL of each of these pages begins as such: Following that equals sign is a team abbreviation. For example, “SEA” is for the Seattle Seahawks, “ARI” is for the Arizona Cardinals, and “SF” is for the San Francisco 49ers. However, if you were to type “LA” behind that equals sign, you’d get this URL: That URL would take you to a page for the Los Angeles Rams.

The profile page listed the team’s website as, but their stadium was listed as Anaheim Stadium, home of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim baseball team. Anaheim is located about 25 miles southeast of Los Angeles.

After the story was published, a request for comment was sent to shortly after 2:05 p.m. Fox 2 has not received a response.  As of about 2:30 p.m., typing that “LA” URL into a browser would lead users to be redirected to the home page.
