(KPLR) – Research shows 795,000 people have a stroke in the U.S. every year and Missouri ranks 4th in the country for the number of strokes. Anyone can have a stroke, even babies. It's a condition that affects the brain and can leave a patient paralyzed and without the ability to speak. Tonight on The Pulse of St. Louis, we'll take a closer look at the condition and find out what is being done in the Gateway area to prevent strokes and improve the lives of stroke survivors.
