ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR)-The St. Louis March for Babies was held Saturday  morning in Forest Park. Fundraising walks and runs are popular events, but the March of Dimes was the first to do this kind of fundraising,  starting back in 1970 in Texas.

Nationally, the event has raised more than $2 billion dating back to its founding more than four decades ago. The money goes to research efforts to find solutions to premature births, birth defects, and infant mortality. FOX 2 is a proud sponsor of the March of Dimes "March For Babies."
