FESTUS, MO (KPLR) – Charges have been upgraded for a Festus mother whose 17-month-old daughter was killed by an apparent brutal beating.

Taylor Fast, 21, now faces felony child endangerment charges in the death of her daughter, Layla.

Fast called police Sunday morning, saying her daughter was unconscious following a spider bite, but investigators said the child’s injuries were some of the worst they had ever seen.

Fast’s three-year-old son was also found with a broken leg. Fast’s boyfriend, Dewayne Boyer, is also charged in the case.

If you wish to help the family with burial cost, a GoFundMe account has been established: Layla Fast “Evans” Funeral Cost.
