ST. LOUIS (KPLR) - Pack your patience if you have to use the Poplar Street Bridge and your coming from the Illinois side. Friday night at 8 pm MoDOT will close both right lanes for resurfacing. The far right lane is currently closed and is causing backups.  When the construction starts Friday and fifty percent of the westbound bridge is closed, it will be a nightmare for drivers.

MoDOT is recommending drivers use the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge, the MLK Bridge or Metrolink.

When the construction ends in a month, MoDOT will then shutdown the two left lanes.  That work should be completed at the start of July.
