KINLOCH, MO (KPLR) - The incoming mayor of Kinloch is held a prayer vigil Tuesday night to pray for a peaceful transition as she takes office tomorrow. Betty McCray says she already has been met with resistance from the outgoing administration of Mayor Darrin Small.

She complained that the city clerk postponed her swearing-in scheduled for tonight. So McCray went to Clayton today and was sworn in by the St. Louis County Circuit Clerk, so she could take over Wednesday as the new mayor.

Outgoing mayor Darrin Small was not available for comment.

The Kinloch city clerk would only say that nothing would happen today concerning the new mayor taking over.
