ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) – Fans from the FOX hit show "Empire" took over south St. Louis Saturday. Fans lined up along Hampton Avenue to buy the shows soundtrack and a chance to meet two of the shows stars, Jussie and Yazz.
“That`s what it`s all for is coming out and meeting the fans getting to love on them and kiss on them. We tweet them very often but we feel like we`re texting friends,” said Jussie Smollett.
The two play brothers on the FOX hit show.
'I love this fool right here. I never had a brother. I was raised by a mom and two sisters so this is my first time bonding with a complete stranger and building like a true love and chemistry,” said Bryshere “Yazz” Gray.
Fans waited in line for hours to meet their favorite stars from the show.
Some fans became overwhelmed with emotions after meeting them.
The CD is a soundtrack of all the songs from season one of empire.
One fan talked about her favorite song on the album.
“Nothing to lose with Terrance Howard and Jussie. Like they`re just a powerful song, part of the two hour series at the end. A real powerful scene the two of them with the guitar just a perfect scene,” said Torri Lewis.
Jussie and yazz are amazed with how big empire has blown up.
“That people loving it even half as much as we love doing it has just been incredible,” stated Jussie. “Amazing,” said Yazz.
Some fans would call Jussie a hero.
“Jamal. Because he`s fabulous honey. He`s famous and he`s a hero for the gay community. Just opening them doors with the R&B and being an African American male opening doors,” explained Dustin Atwood.
And they do it all for the love of the fans.
“Cause all the rest of this stuff isn`t real. But the love is real. So it`s great,” said Jussie.
