U.S. Postal Service previews Maya Angelou Forever Stamp, announces ceremony details

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KTVI)- The U.S. Postal Service previewed the Maya Angelou Forever stamp image. According to USPS.com,  the bottom left corner of the stamp features a quotation from the late author, poet and civil rights leader that reads: “A bird doesn’t sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.”

The stamp will be issued at a dedication ceremony on April 7th at the Warner Theater in Washington, D.C.  The event will take place at 11a.m. and is free and open to the public. Limited seating is available. You can also pre-order the stamps now at usps.com/store, for delivery shortly after April 7th.
