Edwardsville launches campaign to improve parks and recreation

EDWARDSVILLE, IL (KPLR) – The city of Edwardsville has launched a campaign for 3 parks and recreational projects. The campaign is being called “The Better Place to Play”.

Edwardsville hopes to raise $12 million dollars to construct at spray and play park, ice rink, teen center, and state-of-the-art Sports Park for baseball, softball and soccer.

It’s hoped the projects will strengthen the community and better serve Edwardsville residents.

The city hopes to fund projects with private funding, corporate sponsorship, grants and city capital improvement funds.
