(KPLR) - A late arriving clipper system allowed for bonus sunshine and highs Wednesday that jumped to 45 in St. Louis.  However, the clipper is still on track to deliver another dose of winter weather.  Clouds will increase throughout the evening.  About 2 am light snow will spread across metro St. Louis resulting in a light coating by 7 am just in time for the morning rush hour.  With falling temperatures into the mid and low 20’s, slick spots and stretches will develop for commuters.  Total accumulations for metro St. Louis will be 1" to 2" by 11 am Thursday.  Cold air will continue arriving with intermittent flurries.  Another arctic surge Thursday night will arrive with clearing skies and low temperatures of 3 to 8 degrees.
