(KANSAS CITY, MO) - Dramatic video from Kansas City, where a fifteen-year-old girl was seriously injured after being shot at on a bus.

KCTA officials say the surveillance video clearly shows a city bus rolling down the street on the night of December 30 when a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and dark pants suddenly pulls out a gun tucked in his pocket and fires several times into the moving bus.

The bus' windows were instantly shattered. Police say the 15-year-old girl and her apparent boyfriend quickly jumped out of their seats as bullets and pieces of glass flew all around them.

The girl was struck in her leg and paramedics rushed her to a hospital in critical condition.  The male victim was not hurt.

After the shooting, police say the shooter ran the from the crime scene near 39th and Prospect. The bus driver was praised for getting the injured girl to a safe spot and then calling 911.
